I did see him live several years back and it was certainly true that Nigel Watson did a lot of the work. However, when PG took over lead duties (which he did from time to time) his vibrato, phrasing, and pitch-perfect bends were something else. There are a handful of those moments on Time Traders though I'd be first to admit there aren't many and several other albums are better. It's just the album I happened to put on yesterday.
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • Lamb of God- Ashes in the Wake.
They used to be too heavy for me, but I recently watched the documentary about them (& Randys legal battle), now I get it.

    The new Pugwash album.

Another LP of sublime power pop recorded at Konk studios. The download has just been released today for those pledging the money that got the album made.

Sad that this sort of music isn't made very often but happy that the crowdfunding model means that it can sometimes see the light of day.

Any fans of the Beatles, ELO, Kinks, Faces, Jellyfish should check them out.

@Basher his voice sounds like Dave Grohl perfectly harmonised with Josh Homm of QOTSA. Musically it also reminded me a bit of Foo Fighters... Well. That's just me, anyway.

There's one song on the new Bon Jovi rarities CD that is doing it for me.

Reasons: it's not quite like anything I've heard Bon Jovi do, and it's pretty raw sounding. There's some weird effect on the vocal, and it's pretty haunting I would say.

In saying this, I can see why it never made it onto a 'standard' studio album release. It's a bit 'out there' for Bon Jovi. But maybe that's why I like it, it shows a different side to his stuff. Oh, and it has a really nice sounding guitar solo too.

    This one:
