    10th Aug: 958km + 7km = 971km.

I should hit 1000km soon, so well ahead of schedule after a mid year lull.

No runs at the weekend, but had a proper (painful) sports massage on saturday night to try and sort me out a bit. Definitely feel a bit looser, so will do 5km or so tomorrow to keep the legs loose ahead of half marathon on Sunday.

  • Two laps of the Walchsee lake this morning (planned 1/2 marathon is 4 laps). Second lap was easier than the first - which is encouraging. On target for a time just under 2 hours. No more long runs planned, but some short fast ones to help speed and recovery.

  • 807+23= 830. Another lazy week- hard training for BJJ tournaments meaning I'm too tired/sore for running much, but still just about on target for 100k per month as usual.

    Back from holiday.

Did a ton of running (nearly 40k in a week) and I'm up to 451k for the year now.

Ate like shit and put on 4 pounds though :(

As the distance increases so does the appetite. I coach lots of marathon runners and they generally put a few pounds on despite all the distance running.

Well done on 40k in a week :)

  • Wow, I never thought not running for 2.5 weeks would result in so much loss of fitness. To be fair I did run once, when I realised that my heel/achilles hadn't healed sufficiently.

5 miles at lunchtime, and I am knackered. I was up to 40 miles a week, then after a few weeks of CBA and minimal running got back up to 30 miles without too much grief, before getting a bit injured.

Cycling is good for losing weight, especially if like me you can fit in some long commutes. I was expending 6000 calories some weeks. I'm thinking of getting back into it one day per week, I'm not sure if I can be arsed though.

this is my worry with the bristol half on sunday. I've only run a handful of times in the last 2 weeks. Going for a final 7 or 8km tonight or tomorrow then just see what happens sunday.
