2017 Injury club.

I'm studying for some major professional exams at the moment (if I pass they'll be my last), so have very little time in the evenings to cycle at the moment, but on the plus side I'm cycling to work pretty much every day, so the tally for the year as of Friday is 3287km.

Hopefully on track for north of 4200km, I should have a good bit more time mid-November after the exams.

Cheers. Couple of days rest but planning on doing the parkrun local to the Mumbles on Saturday as we are going there for the weekend with some friends.

5 slow sweaty miles. There's something wrong somewhere, I can't have lost this much fitness in a couple of weeks!

Supposed to drop about 5% VO2 max in 2 weeks out. Personally I find after a short break it is the sense of pacing that goes first and being a bit more rested, end up going out too fast and hence then tiring out sooner.

Yes it could be pacing, I'm sure I went dead slow today but you never know. If I did 14 miles 5 weeks ago you would have thought 5 miles wouldn't be too much to ask.

+4km = 383km. Don't think I'll make it to 1000km unfortunately but that's what a cancer scare and a job move does for you. Glad to be getting back though.

I've been slacking on keeping this up to date but still been running with the doggus.

18th Aug: 1013km + 5km = 1018km.
19th Aug: 1018km + 5km = 1023km.
21st Aug: 1023km + 6km = 1029km.

That is 29km for the week.

Walchsee half marathon tomorrow - which has been the reasons for all the training (that I've been crap at logging on here).

I confess I'd rather stay at home and work on this, but I really ought to do the run, having done all that training.

The local parkrun yesterday, I didn't think I took it too easy but did it in 24:55.

We had another C25K starting yesterday with a good crowd, which was brilliant to see and I came out of my usual shell to applaud them as I went past.

I was going to do a run today, but yesterday's run was with a personal trainer friend of mine... Brisk 10k with repeated stair sprints at the end. Ouch. Yoga instead.
