I wonder how Bradders is doing.  I remember when someone took over from him as moderator/admin and they let me become a mod and I jokingly posted a thread about how you were all mine now etc etc...  just a bit of fun.  He didn't see it that way at all - deleted my thread and bollocked me in a PM

It's nice that so many of you have mentioned my 'temp fab' forum.  I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't bothered to set that up?  Funny how in part, this place might not be what it is if it wasn't for me yet I believe I'm somewhat of a Marmite member - liked and hated in equal measure !  I'm quite sure even my detractors would like me in person - I'm only an asshat sometimes on paper (or lcd pixels).

Talking of asshats, I wonder what ever became of Synthman.....

Bradders is fine and dandy, still drivin' in Bristol.

I think you'll find that 87.6% of the UK population strongly dislike Marmite.

10.3% have never heard of it.

    But 2.1% quite like it.

What happened to Evil_Mags, I remember he moved to Spain.
There were a couple of guitar builders on here as well who's businesses went south amid quite a bit of anger on here.

I was racking my brain earlier trying to think of synthman. Complete nutter but you had to admire his persistence in pushing his music.

Not quite 20 years, but I recall being on the Guitarist Magazine (Intermusic) forum in 2005 when the Ashes were on.

And lurking on my hard drive I have a folder called 'Guitarist Forumites' containg a handful of tracks posted by members for folks to download and listen to.  A couple from dot-dot-dot, a few brief snippets from Vox - and one from @Grunfeld ...

    @Jonathangus ;Oooh, anything any good?
I stupidly got rid of all my recordings just cos I thought I'd moved on.  Much later I went searching around the web to find where I'd left them!  It's a shame they're all lowish bit rate mp3s.
    It's called 'Deep End'.

Yeah, there were a few 'oddballs'. Huey, Goji.... and some guy who fancied himself as a barrister but was obviously not... couldn't spell n' shit. I think he practiced 'bird law'.

I've been on here since Music Radar days and I was most perturbed when the forum just disappeared.

I got in touch with Music Radar and didn't get the courtesy of a reply so I thought that was that.

Some time later I was perusing Catthan's sales post on MLP when he mentioned this place.

Bombed straight over and joined up again.  :)

@Grunfeld ; I have a recording somewhere of a cover of Brick in the Wall you sung on for me. Back in the Intermusic days there was a lot more collaborations and jams over BT's.

Back then most of us were multitracking on P3 or 4's with 256Mb ram, so it's funny when you see threads in the current forum thinking you need 4gb ram and an i7 to make music on a PC :)

I never made it to any of the Gasfest things, always gig'ing which was a shame

I was a complete anti theory guitarist back then, claiming everybody just needed to play by ear .... looking back now I can see I was  totally wrong.

Mags went to spain as well. Mags is anything but a socialist.

He's still on facebook as is Beagle.

Smoking Beagle on MR, just Beagle on here IIRC. Nice man, I met him a couple of times - dreadlocks, tattoos: typical physics teacher. I remember a couple of discussions about white people with dreads that were reactionary guff by somebody and that seemed to be the beginning of the end for Beagle on here.

I've been here since the MR days. Found my way there from TDPRI of all places! . I seem to remember @koneguitarist replying to one of my posts and recommending I take a look at the MR boards.
I don't post much but log in most days. Really appreciate the work that goes into keeping this place running. Its a great place and a great community.
