I was thinking about Bertie who was one of those people who posted all the time for years then suddenly stopped. I don’t know why. His wife was some kind of pro singer/ minor celebrity and Bertie had obviously explained about her at some point and never felt the need to re- explain but did reference her a lot. 

If anyone knows who Bertie was married to please let me know!

Bertie, blimey I’d almost forgotten him, I remember he had various boxer dogs that seemed to have never ending issues. Strange how he just suddenly upped and left. I didn’t know about his wife being famous either, be interested to hear about that.

That's right Sheppard guitars. Looked very very tasty. I think Mags actually bought one. Was/is XLR8 also a Pilot? I remember Clarky was majorly into his flying Vs.

Like some of the others mentioned still in theory a member on here. A lot of posts in a short period of time and then nothing. But I’m certain he was on musicradar long before I was. 

A quick flick through suggests his wife sang in big hotels and corporate style gigs I think. So my minor celeb comment may have been stretching a point.

I've had a few NSGs through the years.  Down to one now though - bought that at the London ExCeL guitar show (2007/8?).  Nathan did reappear here briefly a few months ago.  I think life overtook his attempts at guitar building, and he found it a lot easier to make a living using his other skills.  

Neil / XLR8  was a pilot.  Last time I saw Clarky he was still playing the Vs.  @Handsome_Chris will know more about that ...

Bertie is on facebook.

He had a bit of a weird reaction at the last election and unfriended a couple of us who didn't vote the way he expected us to.
He had a proper rant and then unfriended before anyone could reply.

It was very odd.

Several forumites had guitars made by Neil/Xlr8. I had a tele/coodercaster type thing, I believe Bertie had a beautiful "evo" LP type, and there was the Jr type that he made as a Gasfest raffle prize. Then I think he decided to create some more standardised models with a metal vibe under the Morgan Guitar Works brand and that's what Clarky's Vs were..... Introducing the Morgan Guitar Works Bird Of Prey | MusicRadar

I saw that Mags and others had had some issues - seemed very out of kilter with the guy as I knew him.

I have a recollection of him repeatedly coming back under a new username and fairly immediately exhibiting the same nutjob tendencies, then someone would say "alright Clint" and he'd go crazy and flounce off...repeated a few times.

Or I could be confusing that with Azza.

I'm pretty sure that user is the same person who is a current established member who never owned up to that series of sock puppet accounts . Similarly there is an oft referred to "missing" old forumite who is a current regular under a different name.
