I might actually get one of these to make my guitar collection an even 10 in total.

Does anyone know if PRS US knobs fits on SE guitars?

Apparently they do but are permanently out of stock.

If you can wait you might see these on sale for £650-700 in Autumn!

Is it me or has the price shot up, just a wee bit?

Still sounds good and I'd be interested to see if they're tall frets like on the core model.
I guess so, but we are all thinking SE guitars being £600, except that pricing is about 10 years ago.
For some reason, I thought we were looking at around £800 but I probably got it wrong.

I would also factor in the high fuel costs recently, as these will push up import prices from abroad this year. I'm expecting a lot of price hikes in 2023 from brands.

  • Hmm, a bit higher than I’d like to spend, but realistically I’d also like to get a core model for ~£1.6k still… that’s unlikely to happen! I could still see myself trading up a couple of lesser-played guitars for one of these though :)

US pricing never includes sales tax as that is done on a State level so it varies.  So if you are lucky, it's 0% but even if you are in New York, which is only like 4%.

UK retailing pricing almost always includes tax listed.
New York is 8% sales tax

I thought it was 7%, so i googled it before writing 4%.

    I blame Google.

I did not click "more" to read deeper as it seems is a surcharges / city and county taxes taking it to 8.8%.  (Although if I am going to play the pedantic card back...I did say New York, not New York City.  Whilst New York City is 8%, New York State is 4%.....I think i am reading that right?)

Which goes more to my point, it's done on a State....local level, so the price listed is without the tax.  Which was the main point.

I was at GuitarGuitar yesterday and asked about this and if there was any word on the UK pricing, was told it should be around the same as the American one ($850). Seeing the actual price is a bit shocking, but PRS SE and S2 deals this year have informed a lot towards the value of patience and sales.  ;)

Sounds great in the demo. The only thing I'd say is I'm keen on the look of the knobs but that's easily changed and they probably look fine IRL

Any of these would suit it more, in my opinion.

Thomann have removed their DGT SE page now lol. However it was €1219 for the flametop and €1135 for the goldtop. Apparently dealers globally have been mis leading people with 850 dollar pricing!
